The future of refrigerated transport is electric. Unfortunately, most electrically powered refrigerated trucks hardly make it as far as the city borders, because their cooling units tap into the vehicle’s battery for power, which naturally eats away at the distance the vehicle is able to cover. Lithium-ion batteries designed exclusively for cooling purposes do improve the range, but they are expensive to buy and terrible for the environment.
temprify cooling plates have a similarly high energy density as lithium-ion batteries, but are significantly less expensive and can be reused indefinitely. Instead of a permanently installed refrigeration unit, we use mobile refrigeration units (tempriRacks), which are frozen inside a temprify blast freezer (see Pre-cooling infrastructure) and then simply inserted into the cargo space: for stable refrigeration without the need for external power source or dry ice!

In only a few simple steps, temprify’s mobile cooling units (tempriRacks) can convert unrefrigerated vehicles into refrigerated ones. Unlike permanently installed refrigeration units or dry ice (which fully sublimates during use), tempriRacks have to be taken out of the vehicle and refrozen after transport (see Pre-cooling infrastructure). You would probably assume that this increases the logistical efforts required.
However, this isn’t the case because we have managed to automate the entire process! Our temprify processing system tackles logistical obstacles like this by automaticallyexchanging thawed plates for fresh ones. At the same time, the Daten der Tracker ausgelesen are processed and the individual elements checked for damage. The result is actually less effort than required when using conventional refrigeration solutions for transport vehicles.
There are parts in the cold chain, like the last mile of fresh produce on its way to the end customer, that do not require a fully refrigerated cargo space. That's why our refrigerated transport vehicles are also available in smaller sizes: temprify's passive (freezer) coolers guarantee HACCP-compliant delivery of chilled and frozen goods on the same or following day. With integrated data loggers, temperatures are logged without interruption during transport.
